Virtual Appliance

The Virtual Appliance can be received from the VM Build Service. The Virtual Appliance is exclusively available for VMware and is exclusively using an openSUSE Operating System. Nevertheless it is possible to use Cryptshare on virtual,- or hardware systems using a different hypervisor or a different operating system. In this case not the chapters for 'Virtual Appliances' are relevant for you, but the ones dealing with 'other systems' or 'self-installed systems'.

The software-side Virtual and Hardware Appliances is identical. Therefore several chapters of this manual apply to both system types.

Self-Installed Systems

As an alternative to our Appliances there is the possibility to install Cryptshare on a virtual, or hardware system which has previously been prepared by you according to the Cryptshare System requirements. These systems are named 'self-installed systems' within this document.
