Overview
This page explains how administrators can deploy an updated version of the Cryptshare for Outlook Add-In on their Cryptshare Server.
Prerequisites
To deploy an update, you need:
- The newest release ZIP package of Cryptshare for Outlook
- Access to the Cryptshare Server administration interface
- Permissions to upload an OWA Add-In package
1. Log in to the Cryptshare Server administration interface.
2. Navigate to Add-on Products → Cryptshare for OWA. The opened view will display information about the currently installed add-in and provides the option to upload the new add-in package.
3. Click on 'Browse...' and select the newly prepared .zip file.

4. Click on 'Upload Add-In' to start the upload process.
5. After the package has been uploaded, the Cryptshare Server will automatically:
- Extract the new package
- Serve the manifest with your updated ID
- Publish all updated resources to Outlook clients
How Outlook Receives the Update
Outlook detects the new deployment and automatically performs the following actions:
- Downloads the updated manifest
- Retrieves all new resources
- Discards cached files from the previous version
User-side behavior
No reinstallation is required on the client side. Users may simply need to:
- Reload the add-in pane, or
- Restart Outlook
Troubleshooting
If the update does not load in Outlook, please check the following:
- Ensure Outlook was restarted after deployment.
- Verify that the Cryptshare Server uploaded the package successfully in the administration interface.
