Overview

By default. the size limit for messages accepted by the Cryptshare Mail Gateway is approx. 10 MB (10.240.000 bytes). If an SMTP client, for example your mail server, is trying to send larger messages to the Cryptshare Mail Gateway, it will respond with the error code "550 5.3.4".

This page describes how to change this message size limit.

Configuration Steps

  1. Configure both Postfix instances with the new message size limit, in bytes. For example, to set a limit of 25 MB (25 * 1024 * 1024 = 26214400):
postconf -e "message_size_limit = 26214400"
postconf -c /etc/postfix-nta7516 -e "message_size_limit = 26214400"
  1. Reload the Postfix configuration:
postfix reload
